The whispers of our soul can be pretty quiet most of the time. I had an experience a while back that forced me to REALLY feel into the moment.
I was facing a major decision and was caught in an endless mental loop, driving myself crazy with pros and cons. The overthinking and overanalyzing were off the charts! I kept asking for a sign, painting every day, pleading for guidance, but felt met with silence. I was so frustrated and full of doubt! It's no surprise that I was not getting the guidance I wanted. I was a major state of contraction and control.
When we're in that contracted, anxious state, we're actually blocking the very guidance we're seeking. Our human mind is so loud that it drowns out our soul's whispers. Intuitive art is one way to quiet the mind and allow space for Soul wisdom to come through, but when you are really wound up about something, you might need an extra outlet.
So, what can we do?
I discovered a powerful technique almost by accident. While talking to a friend about my dilemma, I committed to staying totally present and noticing how my body reacted as I discussed each option. The results were so cool!
As I talked about option A, I felt my shoulders tense up, my voice became loud and erratic. But when I switched to option B, I noticed that everything shifted in an instant. My shoulders dropped, my energy calmed, and I even started tearing up. I knew immediately that option B was the right choice, and I have had zero doubt since. For a chronic overthinker, that’s really saying something!
This experience taught me something profound about connecting with Soul/Source Energy:
It's usually not about hearing a voice or seeing a sign.
Our body wisdom is a powerful conduit for soul guidance.
Sometimes, we need to step out of our thoughts and into our physical sensations as an observer.
Talking it out (even to yourself) can help show you your own energy around something.
The guidance we seek is often subtle – a feeling of expansion or contraction.
So, the next time you're feeling stuck or swirling in indecision, try this:
Speak your options/thoughts out loud.
Pay close attention to how your body responds.
Notice any shifts in your energy.
Trust the option that brings a sense of ease and expansion.
Trust what your body/energy is telling you!
Remember, your soul's wisdom is always there. Sometimes, we just need to tune in differently to hear it.
